2002-03-14 - 8:53 p.m. 'Tell me something new.'The alarm on my mobile goes off: 0640. A minute later, so does the stereo. "Ladies and Gentlemen...Beaumont..." Walking into a spider web. The lethargic engine makes a modest start. Again I'm thankful to live in the east- no glaring sun in my eyes. Perhaps one of the many reasons not to live in the west. Patchy legs = Cold legs. Let my hair fall. Then truss it up again. At work it is all about establishing the stalking-horse. I stay in for lunch. Yet again. I've only been out once since I started. I wrestle with the CapsLock key, re-arrange the piles of paper that keep growing. 7 pairs of worn jocks come in the mail. Toss the lot on the floor and inspect them. Tea with milk. Apple-flavoured lollies. Wash my cup and I'm ready to go. Muzi's 'I don't want to know' on repeat mode. The beauty of being home- there's no need to make small talk. One day more. I should go book shopping. I need to do this alone. Finished up a bottle of red and opened another. Drinking more than I should these days. More than I should on the road anyway. I want to go to Vienna. To see Klimt and the fountains.
