2001-10-19 - 10:04 p.m. I believe in mutualism and symbiosis; Scratch my back and I'll tickle your toes. Egyptian plovers and crocodiles; Artist and Muse. If only we were mutually and equally interdependent, There would have been no need for the tiring power play. Neither of us would have been the weaker/stronger one, Neither constantly at the receiving/giving end. I wondered then who suffered more, Confused about the theoretical associations between giving-powerful and receiving-helpless. Who held the reins? Who tugged harder? Did it boil down to the one with the brute strength, Decimating all possibilities with the loudest dictatorial voice. Was silence a virtue of resilience; And resilience a virtue of love. Who was emphatic, Who was self-sympathetic? Rhetorical questions I wished I didn't answer so quickly, But post-mortems always make it so easy.
