Today I'm thankful for age and its (fortunately) positive relationship with sensibility. Thankful for primary school English lessons and for the stars. Thankful for my few friends- the ones who make a difference. Thankful for all the bits of information (useful or not) I've gotten from people who have come and gone (the single-meeting friends, as opposed to Tyler/Jack's single-serving ones). Thankful for all those who let me into their heads. And thankful that I'm female - a nudge, wink, smile and pout have gotten me out of most sticky situations. Thankful that I'm not a feminist, despite my occasional man-hating/eating rituals. I'm thankful that I'm not tone-deaf - how crippling that would be; how torturing to all around me. To a somewhat lesser extent, I'm thankful that myopia has given me an excuse for all previous (and future) poor judgement.
Just this once, I want to be grateful for the intangibles.
